William Winkle 1930 Census Mercer County, Kentucky
William Winkle and extended family as enumerated on the 1930 Census living along the Curdsville Pike (Curdsville Road) in Mercer County, Kentucky. Gertrude Ashcraft-Henderson, granddaughter of Joseph Winkle and Angeline Warner, once told me how she, when a young girl, would cross the High Bridge train tressle to visit her Uncle Bill and Aunt Susan who lived across the Kentucky River in Mercer County. Gertrude described the crossing as being scary.
