James Schimka Sr., 1940 Census, Kane County, Illinois.

On this date, James Sr. was enumerated at the Elgin State Hospital. Only 7 days later he was enumerated at his home in Des Plaines but it is uncertain at this time whether he had actually left the hospital. When James died, three months later, information on his death certificate stated that he had been at the hospital for two years.
