This map drawn by Joshua Fry and Peter Jefferson in 1751 was amended prior to or after printing to include more recent places such as, "Fort Necessity taken 1754." A distance chart was added by "J. Dalrymple, London Jany. ye. 1st. 1755." Peter Jefferson was the father of Thomas Jefferson, future President of the United States of America. Inscription: To the Right Honourable, George Dunk Earl of Halifax First Lord Commissioner and to the Rest of the Right Honourable and Hounourable Commissioners for Trade and Plantations. This Map is most humbly Inscribed to their Lordships, By their Lordship's, Most Obedient & most devoted humble Servt. Thos. Jefferys. Engrav'd and Publish'd according to Act of Parliament by Thos.
