Mrs. R. L. Smith Dies Monday At Home In Camargo.
Mrs. Ellen Lovely Smith, 79, wife of R. L. Smith died early Monday morning at her home in Camargo following a long illness.
A native of Magoffin county, she was a daughter of the late Noah and Margaret Craft Lovely and a member of the Baptist church.
Mrs. Smith was a lovely woman whose sweet disposition endeared her to all. She was devoted to her family and church and had many friends throughout this section.
Besides her husband, survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Madison Hogg, Middletown, Ohio, Mrs. Olney Fugate, Germantown, Ohio and Mrs. Gay Manns, Menifee County; three sisters, Mrs. Dan Hays, Mrs. Joel Oldham and Mrs. Minnie Mae Jackson, all of this county; one brother, Sol Lovely, Jeffersonville; 24 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 1pm Wednesday at the Old Salem church with the Rev. Hessler Back officiating. Burial was in this Lovely cemetery in this county. Pallbearers will be Raymond Lovely, Alex Brown, Harold Hogg, Thomas McMenanny, Kenneth Hall and Glen Barlond.
