John Frana and Family 1930 Census Enumeration John Frana and family as enumerated on the 1930 Census in Des Plaines, Cook County, Illinois.
* * * Also, Franz (a.k.a. Frank) Pytlik, who was the nephew of (John Frana + Marie) and (James Schimka + Anna Frana-Schimka). Through a careful inspection of immigration records, the relationship is revealed. Franz Pytlik traveled with John Frana and family and indicated that his relative in the U.S. was his uncle, Vaclav Sunka at 1064 Phacker Ave, Des Plaines, IL (James Schimka at 1064 Thacker Ave, Des Plaines, IL). He was leaving behind his father, also named Franz Pytlik, in Germany. Passage was paid by his Uncle. Given this information EITHER, Franz Pytlik Sr. was married to another Frana who was a sibling of John Frana and Anna Frana-Schimka OR Franz Pytlik Sr. was married to a sister of James Schimka Sr. If the latter is true then some minor modifications to fix the family relationship are needed.
04 June 2013: Following up from the statements made earlier, I was contacted by a cousin who is a descendant of Franz (Frank) Pytlik. The relationship was pointed out to me with the following information: The Frank Pytlik who traveled to the U.S. with his aunt and uncle was the son of Franz Pytlik and Johanna Frana. Johanna was a sibling of John Frana with ID Number I161 and Anna Frana with ID Number I224 in this database. |
