Deceased Name: Naomi C. Schimka of Des Plaines
Services for Naomi C. Schimka (neeHallum) 84, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at United Church of Christ, at Cora and Henry Road, Des Plaines, where she will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Born July 28, 1914, in Walnut Grove, Minn., she died Monday, March 8, 1999, at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Schimka was a bookkeeper for Pierce Electric in Chicago for 25 years, and a member of the Christ Church Women's Guild and Klesia.
She was the wife of the late Keith Peterson and Joseph Schimka Sr.; mother of Lawrence J. (Melanie) Schimka of Des Plaines and the late Keith Peterson; sister of the late Carrol Hallum and August Hallum; and grandmother of Amy (Will) Poirier and Megan and Bradley Peterson.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.

Naomi C. (nee Hallum) Schimka , 84, of Des Plaines died on March 8 in Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge.
Mrs. Schimka was a bookkeeper at Pierce Electric in Chicago for 25 years and a member of the Woman's Guild and Klesia at United Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Keith Peterson and Joseph Schimka Sr., and a son, Keith Peterson. She is survived by her son, Lawrence (Melanie) Schimka of Des Plaines; and grandchildren, Amy Poirier, Megan and Bradley Peterson.
Visitation was in Oehler Funeral Home, Des Plaines. Funeral service was conducted on March 12 in United Church of Christ, Des Plaines. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
