    Name:
Other researchers have come to the conclusion that this John Combs (or Comes, Coombs, Coombes) is the ancestor who brought the family name to the Virginia Colony. The evidence is scant and could very easily be wrong. Inclusion here is complete speculation and only as a placeholder for documents that may prove the lineage.

The name variations shown in parentheses above are examples of the various ways that I am seeing this man's name presented. I have included the the spelling as shown in the one document that I have been able to review and, it should be noted, that since that document was taken from originals, it is of good quality but still secondary at best.

    Children:
    1. 2. Archdale Combs, (Tentative)
