Notes: Some family trees report a second marriage to another "Elizabeth," probably Elizabeth Easton. I have found a record of a marriage between one Napoleon B. Thompson and Elizabeth Easton in Jefferson County, Kentucky on 23 Dec 1866. I have found no plausible evidence of a second marriage. At the time of the above recorded marriage, Napoleon B Thompson and Sarah "Elizabeth" Barnes were both alive and recorded on the 1850 - 1880 Federal Census enumerations in Grant County, Kentucky. From Grant County, Kentucky to Jefferson County, Kentucky is roughly 100 miles and I find it highly unlikely that the Napoleon B Thompson of Jefferson County, KY is the same person as Napoleon B Thompson of Grant County, KY.
